Milparinka Gallery 2


Geoff DeMain's Community Art Piece, located just east of Milparinka.

This is an interpretation of Charles Sturt's Cairn and the building materials used by early settlers.

The art piece houses a central hearth and functioning chimney.  Visitors are welcome inscribe their names into the sandstone.

The beautiful Evelyn Creek runs along the eastern edge of Milparinka.  Named by Sturt in 1845, the creek and its main waterhole provided a life source for the early people of Milparinka.
Grass seeds dance in the evening breeze, silhouetted against the gathering night sky.
In a scene reminiscent of picnic races in the early 1900s, local youngsters enjoy a run at the Once a Jolly Swagman Festival, 2003.
