Located 16 kilometres SW of Milparinka the Mt Browne Goldfields were some of the most extensively mined during the "gold-rush" period.Today the only mining activity is conducted by fossickers hoping for a lucky find.
Amongst the reminders of mining days are the ruins of the old township, the cemetery and the windlasses and mullock heaps dotted across the landscape.
For a quiet break, or a base for further travel across the Corner Country try camping on Mt Browne Station.
