CORNER COUNTRY TOURING
Four Day Corner Country Touring, (below).
Six day tour to Innamincka and return to NSW
Corner Country Self Drive from Broken Hill
Broken Hill-Milparinka -Cameron Corner-Tibooburra-White Cliffs.
Day 1. ( 350 km approx.) From Broken Hill head out of town on the Silver City Highway. Much of the highway is sealed, but always be careful, especially where there is dirt, and if it is dusty. Stop off to view the fabulous scenery along the way, especially places like the Bijerkerno Hills, Euriowie Gorge( a township was once established on the edge of Euriowie Creek, and tin and talc mines throughout the hills), pull over at the Fowler's Gap sculpture, or head into Fowler's Gap Research Station to learn about the wonderful natural bio-diversity of our region.

Proceed to Packsaddle and Milparinka. Have a cup of coffee at the the Barrack's Visitor Centre, visit the courthouse, follow the walking trail around the town and finish up with a drink or a meal at the Albert Hotel. Head out of town on the Hawker Gate Road, and visit Poole's Grave, Depot Glen and Sturt's Cairn. Continue on to Theldarpa Station for an overnight stay.
Day 2. 350 km approx.
| After breakfast head west from Theldarpa on the Hawker Gate Road . There is a turnoff about 20 kilometres from Theldarpa which will take you to Cameron Corner for lunch. You will cross through the dingo fence to reach the roadhouse. After lunch head for Tibooburra through the Sturt National Park. Over night at Tibooburra. |
Day 3.( 290 km approx)
From Tibooburra head south on the Silver City Highway (perhaps have lunch in Milparinka) and head to White Cliffs. Overnight in a dug out motel or a hotel.
Day4. Visit historic Wilcannia, then return to the Barrier Highway and Broken Hill ( to the west) or Sydney, ( to the east).
Variations on the above.
Spend a night at Packsaddle
Roadhouse. Cabins and Caravan sites available.
Spend a night at the Albert
Hotel, Milparinka. Visit the Mt Browne Goldfields.
Spend an extra night at Theldarpa
and take a tag along or self drive trip around a sheep station. Camp sites
available.
Spend more time in Tibooburra
or White Cliffs.
