MILPARINKA ARTIST IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM
The Milparinka Heritage and Tourism Association has a long association with the arts, from staging music festivals, to promoting community art, to housing a selection of outback works by Broken Hill artist, Geoff Demain. The Association is keen to continue to develop this association and offers its Visiting Volunteer accommodation (Evelyn Cottage) free of charge to artists who are willing to come to the area to work for a short period. The residency must take place during the period from October to March, artists must be willing to assist our organisation by watering plants in the garden areas and by helping to maintain the integrity of the Heritage Precinct ( in other words, try to keep the dust out!) We also ask that each artist provide a small piece of their work that can be used in a display, printed or in some other way used to raise funds for the association. During the months of late 2007 and early 2008 several artists have taken up this offer, with wonderful results. Contact Ruth Sandow on 08 80912524 or emal pimpara.lake@bigpond.com to find out more.
