The Milparinka-Tibooburra communities were founded on the back of the gold mining era of the 1880s. Today, exploration of the region for gold is continuing. Who knows, we may be on the verge of another "rush".
To understand more about the region, geologists Bob and Nancy have developed two self-drive tours, with explanations of the geology of the Tibooburra district.
