MILPARINKA HERITAGE PRECINCT PDF GUIDE VOLUNTEERING ACCOMMODATION PROJECTS

The reconstruction of Milparinka is ongoing.  What has been achieved is the result of sometimes very small steps, each building onto the previous.  In 2010 two projects will be undertaken.

Rebuilding Milparinka's Streetscape.

The process of redefining Milparinka's streetscape began in 2009 when volunteer surveyors Colin Horsley and Ian Sutherland, armed with theodolites and maps supplied by the NSW Lands Department, re-pegged town boundaries and some of the street intersections.

This was followed up by a group from Ballarat Grammar who in 2009 created semi-permanent stone markers around the township and in 2011 installed a sculpture, street signs and identified a number of sites of former businesses in Loftus Street.

Wild Dog Fence Heritage Project

Planning is underway to construct a purpose built centre which will house into which will be incorporated interpretive panels depicting the heritage of the Wild Dog Fence.  This centre will complement the Pastoral Museum, as well as provide shelter for some of the many items currently on display.
