CORNER COUNTRY TOURING ITINERARY ONE

Primary Route: Silver City Highway

Four nights.

This is a suggested itinerary for a tour through the Corner Country.  It starts and ends in Broken Hill.

  Day one    
Arrive in Broken Hill and after a look around the city head out to Mt Gipps Station and, half and hour's drive north along the Silver City Highway.  Turn off just past the Yanco Glen Hotel ruin.

  Day two    
Continue along the Silver City Highway, arriving at Packsaddle Roadhouse in time for lunch.

Call into the Milparinka Heritage Precinct for a journey through the region's heritage. Visit Sturt's Depot Glen and Mt Poole.

  Day three    
Spend the day exploring Tibooburra and nearby Sturt National Park.

Visit Mt Wood Pastoral Museum displays

  Day four    
Head out to Cameron Corner for the day.  Drive through Sturt National park on the way. Call into Fort Grey where Sturt set up his second Corner Country camp.

After lunch return to Tibooburra for the night, or spend the night at Cameron Corner.

Alternatively, return part way to Tibooburra, then turn southwards to join up with the Hawker Gate Road.

Option 1. Head from Cameron Corner via the Corner Country Loop to Milparinka and the Silver City Highway.

Option 2.  From Theldarpa return to Milparinka and the Silver City Highway

Option 3.  From Tibooburra return south along the Silver City Highway

Head off from Cameron Corner toward Tibooburra, but take the intersection Waka which leads south to the Hawker Gate Road, From the Hawker Gate road head east toward Milparinka, calling into Sturt's Depot ( in case you missed it before). 

Continue south from Milparinka to the White Cliffs' turnoff on the Silver City Highway and head to White Cliffs, or, continue on along the highway to Broken Hill.
