Corner Country

Geological Tours

The Corner Country of outback New South Wales has a rich mining history, from the early days of gold mining near Milparinka and Tibooburra, to the scattering of talc, tin, copper, limestone and silver, lead and zinc mines across the whole area. Not to mention opal.

The area is also renown for its geology, and these tours, designed by Bob Brown and Nancy Vickery, will guide you along historic routes and interpret the geology of the landscape as you go.

Please note: Stop 3 of the Sturt's Tour is located adjacent to Eldee Station.  The owners have requested that information regarding their property be excluded from the tour as it can lead to people inappropriately accessing their property to collect minerals. We apologise to the owners of Eldee for any inconvenience that we may have caused by promoting the tour and ask that visitors not engage in activities of this nature on the property.
